Reproductive Mental Health

"You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it.”  — Margaret Thatcher

Reproductive Mental Health refers to mental health issues that arise as a result of difficulties with trying to conceive (TTC), infertility, secondary infertility, undergoing fertility treatment, using egg/sperm donors, adopting embryos, and those who are childless not by choice. Research shows 1-in-8 people struggle with some type of fertility/reproductive issue. Reproductive mental health struggles can vary greatly. It can look like struggling with feelings of grief/loss of the future family one may have envisioned, anger at friends/family who don't understand, and avoidance of children in their lives. It can also look like a significant mental health condition.

People living with reproductive issues can develop mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Danu Therapy specializes in helping those struggling with reproductive issues. We utilize treatment modalities that are evidence based, such as Exposure Response Prevention (ExRP), Brainspotting, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
