Perinatal Trauma refers to any traumatic event that occurs during pregnancy, labor/delivery, and during the postpartum period. Trauma and trauma responses are unique to each individual. Two different people can experience the same event and react in a completely different way. Trauma response arise when there is a real or perceived threat to oneself and/or their child. Perinatal trauma can be a chemical pregnancy, miscarriage, pregnancy loss, TFMR, or infant loss. It can also look like unexpected complications, an uncertain ultrasound result, being unsupported by a medical provider, an emergency c-section, your baby being in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and more.

Danu Therapy specializes in treating Perinatal Trauma. We utilize treatment modalities that are evidence based to address these issues, such as Brainspotting and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
