About Danu Therapy
Danu [Dah-nú] is the earth-mother goddess from Celtic religion who was honored under various names in Ireland and Eastern Europe. The mother goddess is a symbol of creativity, birth, fertility, sexual union, nurturing, and the cycle of growth.
Experiencing a reproductive journey is an integral part of the human experience. Whether we desire to have children or not. Whether we became pregnant unexpectedly or have worked for years to become pregnant without success. Whether parenting is "easy" or filled with anxiety. It's a complicated experience. No wonder cultures throughout history have assigned deities to represent this complex experience.
In 2022, Danu Therapy was opened to serve those with reproductive and perinatal mental health needs. It was named to honor those we support along this journey.
